Father's Day may still be a couple months away, but you don't have to wait to show your appreciation for one of the greatest TV dads of all time. Jim Anderson (Robert Young) and the rest of the premier sitcom family have made their way to DVD with the release of the four-disc set of Father Knows Best's complete first season from Shout Factory. In addition to the season's 24 episodes, the set includes "24 Hours in Tyrantland," a previously unaired episode created for the U.S. government as well as the pilot to Robert Young's next project, Window on Main Street. The set also includes new cast interviews, behind-the-scenes color footage and a collection of Young's home movies. However, to many die-hard fans chagrin, many episodes in the set are the 22-minute versions created for syndication rather than the original 26-minute cuts. Shout Factory might not know best in that regard, but it's still great to finally have this TV classic on DVD. Adam Bryant
