Faraway Hill on DuMont

The medium's first network prime-time soap centered on a recently widowed New York woman who moves to a rural area to be with relatives and finds herself caught up in a romantic triangle. It was very early TV, but some of the stylistic touches were innovative. For example, each episode began with a `previously on' recap that is now commonplace; and an unseen female narrator provided comments and explanations to help move the story along.
