ABC's Pan Am enjoyed a smooth if not soaring takeoff with 10.87 million aboard, scoring a 3.1 rating among 18-to-49-year-olds to land second place against CSI: Miami's 10th season premiere.
Seth MacFarlane, Charlie Sheen
Comedy Central has called on Family Guy creator and executive producer (and unofficial roasting expert) Seth MacFarlane to emcee The Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen, the network announced Thursday.
The network first announced plans to roast Sheen in early July, just a few months after he was fired...
Cory Monteith, Lea Michele, Chris Colfer
Let's get this straight: Three Gleeks will graduate, and a possible spin-off to Glee isn't dead yet.
Kevin Reilly, Fox's entertainment president, made attempts to set the record straight about the numerous conflicting stories about Glee lately — that creator Ryan Murphy spilled unfounded plot secrets; that actor Chris Colfer found out he, along with Lea Michele and Cory Monteith, were the ones graduating via Twitter; and that the spin-off would be scrapped.
Fox announced its fall premiere dates on Thursday, which will stretch from late September until Thanksgiving Eve.
The schedule will kick off with the Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, Sept. 18, at 8/7c.
Glee is back for Season 3 on Tuesday, Sept. 20, followed by new series New Girl at 9/8c and the returning comedy Raising Hope at 9:30/8:30c. New Girl stars Zooey Deschanel as a brokenhearted elementary school teacher who moves away from her ex and bunks with three unruly guys.
What Seth Meyers said about Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live over the weekend is no joke: He can't even win his time slot let alone the presidency.
Sunday night's two-hour finale of The Celebrity Apprentice got shellacked by Tom Selleck's seventh installment of the popular Jesse Stone franchise, Innocents Lost.
The Contra Security team of Breaking In has protected priceless works of art and famous celebrities, but the cast and crew behind the scenes of the Fox comedy are working on their biggest assignment yet: trying to get a Season 2 renewal.
Less than a week ago, the freshman comedy was one of five shows axed by Fox. Even next to the cancellations of cult favorites like Human Target and Lie to Me, the news that the network was ending Breaking In came as one of the bigger surprises because of its star power (Christian Slater, Bret Harrison) and its impressive ratings (the series has averaged 7.7 million viewers in its post-Idol berth).

Fred Flinstone, Simon Cowell
Yabba Dabba Do! Fox announced Monday that Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane will launch a new version of The Flinstones in 2013.
Fox President of Entertainment Kevin Reilly made the news official during the network's upfront presentation to advertisers, and though MacFarlane was not present, he explained his take on the animated comedy in a pre-taped clip:
Survivor: Redemption Island
The granddaddy of all network reality shows might be showing further signs of creakiness, but Survivor: Redemption Island's finale and afterparty averaged 12.5 million viewers Sunday night.
The three-hour combo, starting at 8/7c, posted a 3.8 rating among 18-to-49-year-olds, helping CBS easily win the night. The season-ender declined compared with the previous season's finale in December (13.6 million, and 4.1 demo rating). But while the show's audience has dwindled in recent years, the TV staple still manages to finish in the top 15, if not the top 10. It consistently attracted more than 10 million people for its usual Wednesday airing this season.
Nick Cannon has worn several hats over the course of his career — actor, rapper, host, Mr. Mariah Carey, chooser of unconventional baby names — but with Nick Cannon: Mr. Showbiz (Saturday, May 14, 9/8c, Showtime), he returns to what he calls his first love: stand-up comedy. The special finds Cannon wilding out on topics both personal and political, as well as sharing a surprising amount of information on what it's like to be married to the biggest selling female recording artist of all time. As Cannon rode from the set of another interview back to the Los Angeles hospital where Carey is staying with her newborn twins, he talked to TVGuide.com about his special, Kanye West, "no homo," and how he gets away with mocking his family onstage.
Why return to stand-up comedy?
Nick Cannon: I never left...
Seth MacFarlane continues his animation domination: Fox has renewed Family Guy and The Cleveland Show, the network announced Monday.
"For nine seasons, our viewers have been cracked up, delighted, surprised and, at times, gloriously disturbed by the mind of Seth MacFarlane — and they keep coming back for more," Fox President of Entertainment Kevin Reilly said. "The Griffins and the Browns have become cornerstones of our Sunday nights, and we can't wait to find out what new adventures Seth, Mike and Rich cook up for them next season."
