MTV Renews Faking It

Katie Stevens, Rita Volk

MTV has ordered a 10-episode second season of Faking It, the network announced Monday.

Faking It is MTV's highest-rated new series this year, scoring an average of 1.4 million viewers each week. The scripted comedy tells the story of two best friends (Katie Stevens and Rita Volk) who pretend to be gay in order to become popular.

Faking It

MTV's new comedy Faking It centers on two best friends (Katie Stevens and Rita Volk) who are mistaken for lesbians at their school. But when that misunderstanding elevates the pals to popularity status, they decide to keep up the ruse. Executive producer Carter Covington (Greek, Hart of Dixie) took time to fill out our TV Guide Magazine showrunner survey and explain why Faking It is the real deal.
