Rome Hartman, a 15-year veteran producer for 60 Minutes, is taking over the reins at CBS Evening News with Bob Schieffer, replacing Jim Murphy, Variety reports. The move comes as CBS News continues to seek a full-time anchor for the telecast; Bob Schieffer, who also hosts Face the Nation, only agreed to serve as a temporary successor to Dan Rather.
