At 17, Selena Gomez is already an actress, singer and now... philanthropist. On Sunday, the star of Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place will be on hand to meet the Scott family, who learns that their problem-ridden home will be rebuilt by ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (8/7c). TVGuide.com spoke with Gomez about her passion for giving back to her community and what's next for her on Wizards.
TVGuide.com: How did you get involved with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition?
Selena Gomez: The little girls in this episode were big fans of the show. They didn't know where they were going and they just pulled up [to the Wizards set] and were completely surprised. We gave them a huge tour of the set. It was awesome.

Tonight's new house goes to a Lyme, N.H., family with eight children, one of whom has leukemia. Grey's Anatomy hot doc Patrick Dempsey is one of the volunteers, joined by a surprise celeb and members of a Manchester, N.H., family who had their house rebuilt on the show in 2007.

This week Extreme is in Davis County, Kentucky to meet the Mattingly family — as well as Clint Black, our "Get On The Bus" celebrity volunteer.
Two years ago, Steve Mattingly was responding to a fire call at a neighborhood home, where he was asked to direct traffic around the site. Steve's wife Melissa was driving by the fire when disaster struck. Steve was hit full speed, by a car that didn't see him. An EMT herself, Melissa immediately got out of her car and ran to care for her husband. In the days following, Steven had suffered multiple injuries, brain damage and amnesia. To date, Steven has had seven surgeries to try to repair the damage. Thank God Melissa was there, she saved his life, she knew what to do. They both know what to do when they 're the first ones on the scene of an accident like that. He wasn't supposed to make it, but she made sure he did.
