With only one episode left to go, I'm not quite sure how things can get any worse for the boys from Queens. Vince's situation took a dire turn this week as Verner's over-the-top demands pushed Vince to the breaking point. As Vince stood up for himself and demanded some clarity from his mercurial director, Verner unceremoniously fired him on the spot.
While Ari and Andrew celebrated his move into the big time, Ari got the news from the set and raced off to try and save the day Ari-style. Calling in favors from an airborne, newly-appointed studio president Dana Gordon, Ari dissuaded Vince from throwing in the towel and in the process, further alienated the agitated Verner. Trying to diffuse the situation, Dana attempted to convince the actor and director to work out their differences, but by that point, Verner had completely lost his cool and charged the office of studio chairman, John Ellis (Alan Dale). Unfortunately, despite liking Vince's performance, Ellis shut down production on the over-budget move and left Dana in a precarious position as well.
As Vince's luck was taking a nosedive, Turtle's was on the upswing and we learned a little more about our favorite glorified chauffeur. As Jamie Lynn Sigler perpetrated a booty call, Turtle proved to be a willing participant, despite being warned by Jamie that her therapist suspects her of being attracted to losers. Turtle even went so far as to divulge his real (and heretofore unknown) name — Sal. Sadly, Turtle's weekend plans were hastily cancelled when he got a call from Vince and learned that his friend had been kicked off the movie and was heading back east.
Are things going to take a turn again for Vince? Can he get back to where he was? Hopefully, next week's season finale will have some answers for us.
