The DVD release date for I Dream of Jeannie: The Complete Fourth Season has been pushed back a week to Sept. 11. (The delay? Some nonsense about genies not being able to be photographed.) Meanwhile, DVD releases have been set for Face/Off: Special Collector's Edition (the only movie my wife has literally walked out on, Sept. 11), TNT's The Company miniseries (also available in Blu-ray, Oct. 23), The Batman: The Complete Fourth Season, Teen Titans: The Complete Fourth Season (Nov. 20), and Dirt: The Complete First Season (Dec. 11).

Barbara Eden courtesy Lifetime
On Army Wives, Barbara Eden will once again be married to a man in uniform. As first reported in the Ausiello Report vodcast, the I Dream of Jeannie star will play Victoria Grayson on the Aug. 12 episode. Along with her husband General Hugh Grayson (Robert Forster), she arrives on post to check up on things. No belly buttons this time around. It doesnt hurt that the Lifetime shows creator Katherine Fugate happens to be Edens niece. Fugate also has plans for an old friend from the days she was a writer on Xena: Warrior Princess. I want to write a two-parter for Renee O'Connor (Xenas bosom buddy Gabrielle) for the second season, Fugate says. Weve stayed friends; she gave me my baby shower. Reporting by Ileane Rudolph

Bend It Like Beckham's Gurinder Chadha — who is already attached to helm an I Dream of Jeannie movie — is close to inking a deal to direct Jennifer Lopez, Luke Wilson, John Travolta and Shirley MacLaine in the big-screen Dallas. She would replace Robert Luketic, who dropped out due to "creative differences" (read: "J.Lo as Sue Ellen?! I'm Audi.").

Colleen Zenk-Pinter and Diana the bear, As the World Turns
CBS' As the World Turns marks 50 years on daytime television next month. I'm not April foolin' you! So fire up your FauxVo because ATWT will celebrate its golden anniversary with two special episodes: On Friday, March 31, the residents of Oakdale are reimagined as characters from classic TV shows like I Dream of Jeannie and The Beverly Hillbillies. On Monday, April 3, seven of the soap's divas board a chartered bus for a road trip. Their sentimental journey includes lotsa vintage ATWT clips and even some action adventure. "I stand up to an 8-foot-tall, 350-pound black bear!" Colleen Zenk-Pinter (Barbara) enthuses to TVGuide.com. "It was so much fun. It really was."
Having screened a preview tape, this suds fan can vouch for Pinter's point. Between the bear battle and the sight of 87-year-old Helen Wagner (Nancy) fleeing from a flaming bus, this is can't-miss stuff. Who knew Nancy — an ATWT staple

Barbara Eden, Harper Valley PTA
Question: A friend and I were talking about, of all people, Barbara Eden. Was Harper Valley PTA really her first show after I Dream of Jeannie? If so, what happened to her during the time in between?
Answer: Good question, Brian, and Ms. Eden herself didn't have an answer for you when interviewed in 1981. "I don't know," she said when asked why 10 years went by before she again starred in a series. (Jeannie was canceled in 1970 and Harper Valley debuted on NBC in 1981.) "It wasn't a question of not being wanted. The shows they found just didn't work."
No, they didn't. In fact, three networks and at least a dozen of TV's most creative types tried to come up with a series for her, while she earned high ratings doing variety specials, singing appeara

Question: There were episodes of I Dream of Jeannie that featured an invisible dog that did not like Major Nelson. What was the dog's name and to whom did it belong?
Answer: Once again I'm faced with a reader who doesn't need help but rather seeks to confound and vex me with a question he foolishly believes to be a stumper.
Trifle not with my TV powers, mortal — you bark up the wrong tree. The I Dream of Jeannie dog's name was Djinn Djinn; he was only invisible part of the time; he belonged to Jeannie (Barbara Eden) and he didn't discriminate in terms of hatred. He despised all uniformed men since, Jeannie explained, the palace guards were unkind to him in past years.
In his appearances on the show, the vicious little beast shredded many a pant leg and was once turned into a porcelain statue when one of Jeannie'
