Break out the eggnog (non-alcoholic, of course) all you Drake & Josh fans, and start celebrating the holidays early this year! Nickelodeon has just announced that two of their most popular stars Drake Bell and Josh Peck, will be reuniting for a new, two-hour original TV movie Drake & Josh: Best Christmas Ever. Set to begin production in July, the pic will "blend the classic buddy comedy viewers have come to expect from Drake and Josh with a heartwarming story for the season,” says Marjorie Cohn, executive vice president of Nick's Development and Original Programming. In the hilarious adventure, Drake and Josh, who happen to be working as the mall Santa and his helper, promise an adorable little girl that her foster parents and siblings will have "the best Christmas ever." Easier said than done considering this promise changes their lives completely (and lands Josh behind bars). What's your take on the reunion movie idea? Think this was brought about in part because o... read more

Jeers: Not Such a Super Decision

Drake Bell courtesy Dimension Films

Jeers to Nickelodeon for promoting Superhero Movie during tween-friendly shows like iCarly. Sure, it stars Drake Bell from the network’s Drake & Josh, but the PG-13 flick also features — to quote the MPAA advisory — “crude and sexual content, comic violence, drug references and language.” (Not to mention Leslie Nielsen having sex with a corpse.) Then again, when a pregnant 17-year-old headlines one of your channel’s kidcoms, I guess anything goes.• For more Cheers & Jeers, check out the new vodcast.• Share your own raves and rants about other shows on the Reader Cheers & Jeers discussion board.• We may feature your Cheer or Jeer on TVGuide.com or in TV Guide magazine! read more

Parents' Guide: What's New for Tweens?

Hellboy: Sword of Storms

Former adolescents Michael Davis and Mark Nollinger can still summon their inner middle-schooler when they watch tween TV. They got together the other day to compare notes on the new season for kids who are approximately 5 feet tall, wear braces and inject the word "like" between words, like, all the time. Michael Davis: Which new or returning shows will send parents screaming out of the room? Nollinger: It's too early to tell with the new shows, although I can imagine that even some folks who loved Beavis and Butt-Head as college students might not welcome Mr. Meaty (premiering Sept. 22, on Nickelodeon) into their living rooms as parents. Personally, I can handle just about anything as long as I don't have to hear the Camp Lazlo theme song ever again. I do read more
