Dirty Sexy Money Episode Recap: "The Silence" Season 2, Episode 4

What a tangled web the Darlings weave. They have so ingrained themselves in the lives of the Georges that Lisa and Nick find themselves in couple's therapy. Take therapy about the Darlings to fixing the Darlings problems, throw in a steamy sex scene between Nola and Jeremy, Simon's lack of scruples, and several other juicy tidbits, this episode only furthered my belief that Dirty Sexy Money is one of the dirtiest, sexiest nighttime soaps ever.  Plus they rocked the vote.

Nick really ticked me off. From his phone ringing non-stop in the therapist's office, to the way he spoke to his wife regarding the gallery, I felt he was a little nasty and frankly, I don't care for that side of him. Perhaps he is becoming a little too much like the Darlings.

One of those phone calls was Brian Jr. That kid is too smart for his own good. And the lines his father was shouting basically stole the best line award for this week. "The pygmy has a mind of his own!" Brian Jr. is smarter than both his father and mother. His stow-away antics and subsequent running away to Coney Island, may have been just the ticket to get his mom to stay in New York.

Once again Patrick is making really stupid decisions and refuses to allow his father and Nick help him to see the error of his ways. If that man were left to his own devices, he could probably do some real damage. I found it hard to believe it took until late in the game for someone to say that it would be a bad idea to have Carmelita on the stage when Patrick made his acceptance speech, not because she was a he, but because his wife only died like 10 minutes ago. Geesh, is there any moral turpitude left here?

Don't you think someone with the name Chase ought to be wearing an Izod polo with the collar turned up? I mean, plaid, really? He looked a little like a lumberjack named Bunyan. Well now he can buy all the plaid he could ever want. Though he wanted to make sure Nick knew how disgusted he was with the whole process. Truth, schmuth, a little Darling money could keep me happy, for like, ever.  He couldn't have been too close to Ellen since he didn't bother to show up at her funeral.

Simon, you money-grubbing scumbag. I hate him for telling Karen that the offer of marriage was off the table since she couldn't answer him in the way he wanted her to. And he broke up with her in the middle of a business meeting. What a creep. And, how dare he use the effervescent Karenita for his crazy plot to squelch the Darlings. I have nothing else to say about you. Except, I love-hate you!

Karen, Karen, Karen. How can you be so smart and yet so completely clueless? I know love plays funny tricks on our hearts and makes our heads turn to gelatinous goo, but are you really that blind? You may never end up with Nick, or you might, but Simon is just bad news.

I must admit I felt a little bad for Lisa when Nick told her she couldn't open the gallery with Jeremy. Yes, I get that he has no foot to stand on when it comes telling Lisa she can't work with a Darling, but I wish she had just said to him, "Well, Nick, I'm not asking for your permission. I intend on doing what I want, since that's exactly what you do everyday when you choose the Darlings over me and our marriage."

Carmelita was not happy with the news of Ellen's death and told Patrick she was leaving him. Somehow I don't think this is the last we'll see of her.

Tripp had a heart attack which makes a takeover of his company a little easier. I am concerned that Patrick's feelings towards Tripp and the possibility that his win was due to help he received from Simon, will lead him to support Simon's takeover. Although, I wonder if Nick got a significant amount of shares when he was named the new head of Darling Enterprises. However, it looked from the previews as though the wedding might never happen.

I didn't know that Nicky could be so sneaky, but I was impressed when he slyly switched phones with Jeremy to find out who the 'friend of a friend' was. Nola helped by answering,  "Hey, sweetcheeks." That friend of a friend just happens to be the enemy.

Just a little art aside, anyone else notice the Jeffrey Koons statue in front of the Darling building?

Best Lines:
• Karen: "I've been married four times, even I have shame."

• Jeremy: "We're serving domestic limoncello? This stuff is toxic!"

• Patrick" "Look at him, like Freddy Krueger; just waiting for a chance to kill again."

Oh, yeah, and Patrick won the election. GO PADDY!
