In the overheated FX serial's second-season opener, ruthless editrix Lucy Spiller (the wildly miscast Courteney Cox) survived her stabbing at the hands of a tabloid target, woke up from a coma... and immediately started running "Dirt Now" magazine again. She even participated in a paparazzi chase and popped a staple in her stomach. Let it be known now that if I ever get knifed by somebody I've Jeered, I'm taking a week off.

Everyone was giving scoop at the season premiere of Courteney Cox's FX series, Dirt, on Thursday evening. FX has opted not to produce more episodes of Dirt and The Riches, both of which ceased production in December after completing only seven of their 13 ordered episodes. Danny Comden, whom a handful of you may remember from the short-lived 2003 ABC sitcom I'm with Her, has been recruited for a three-episode arc on FX's Dirt, playing a new love interest for Courteney Cox's tabloid queen Lucy Spiller. Specifically (because Dirt is all about the nuances), Comden has been cast as an almost-divorced TV bigwig who wants to rekindle an old romance with Lucy.Dirt premieres Season 2 on March 2.

FX has announced a March 2 premiere for the second season of Courteney Cox Arquette's Dirt, which will air Sundays at 10. Though the tabloid-magazine workplace series had received a full 13-episode order, only seven shows got penned before the WGA work stoppage started. Nonetheless, since this isn't exactly 24 we're talking about here, FX has opted to go ahead and unspool the season.
