April 15, 2007: Game Night

Joe kissed Rebecca. When Rebecca first came into the picture I never thought I’d be writing that sentence. I can’t believe Joe. It just seems so, well, out of character. Although I guess we don’t really know very much about him, to be honest. He’s a musician, he stays at home with the kids, he seems frustrated and bored at times, and his marriage to Sarah seems to have its problems. But basically all his on-screen time has involved his shared marital problems with Sarah, or, a few episodes back, his reaction to Paige’s diabetes. So I guess we don’t actually know much about Joe himself. But kissing his wife’s newly discovered half sister definitely doesn’t say very much about him as a person. And it seems especially creepy that it happened right after Rebecca told him about her much older ex-boyfriend. Was Joe taking that as a sign that she’d be interested in him as well? And here we thought Kitty was Clue-less.UPDATE: Speaking of hit ABC serials, Ausiello has exclusive, breaking scoop regarding the Grey's Anatomy spinoff. Check it out. read more

Question: Who cares about the Lost snub and Ellen Burstyn? The Emmys got a big one right this year: Leslie Jordan has made me howl in everything he's done, from Murphy Brown to Dharma & Greg. Kudos to the Academy for awarding him for his guest role on Will & Grace. To me, this makes up for nominating Kevin James. Answer: To me, Kevin James' clowning falls under the same heading as Leslie Jordan's broad and often very funny shtick. Be that as it may, I have no gripe with Jordan winning the guest-performer Emmy. The only one of those guest-actor wins that made my jaw drop was Christian Clemenson (a fine actor in an over-the-top role) beating Michael J. Fox for Boston Legal ... read more

Jenna Elfman Has a Dharma Initiative

Hi-larious. That's the word coming out of Jenna Elfman's mouth, midconversation, as she picks up the phone for this TVGuide.com Q&A. What is the gifted comedienne in the midst of describing? That was the first topic at hand as we used the occasion of the DVD release of Dharma & Greg: Season One to chat up Elfman — fresh from Courting Alex's abbreviated run — about her sitcom hits, misses and lessons learned, the Dharma- read more
