Dexter Episode Recap: "Si Se Puede" Season 3, Episode 6

Now we're cooking with gas. Miguel and Dexter's friendship deepens. Harry makes an appearance, (or an apparition). Debra goes out on a limb. And a very bad man gets what's coming to him.

Miguel tells Dexter that they are "like-minded," and forges and unlikely alliance with him. Dexter's subconscious, in the form of Harry tells him not trust Miguel, and that Dexter should put him to the test. Dexter gives Miguel an offer he knows he will refuse. But Miguel doesn't refuse. He wants to repay Dexter for taking care of Free-bo and Ethan. Miguel "has way more appetite and aptitude" for vigilantism than Dexter would have given him credit for.

Unfortunately, things don't go as planned as the Nazi guy's escape is discovered sooner than hoped for.  Harry tries to tell Dexter he is being sold out by Miguel, but Dexter isn't ready to believe that. Miguel shows up to get Dexter out of the garage - he comes through because, that's what friends do.

Debra shows her softer side crying for the loss of Wendell. It's always a treat to see her this vulnerable. In this state she goes to Anton. She wants more, but she leaves before more presents itself.  Aside: Why isn't Anton concerned for his own safety? Is it because he is Quinn's friend and Quinn may be the scalper, nay skinner? Just throwing that out there.

Rita decides to go to work for Syl. A shadow of hesitation makes me wonder if there will be some truth to her worries that this could turn their friendship sour.

Debra's accusation that Ramon might be the skinner has her staking him out. She calls Quinn for back up, and Ramon shoots soda up the perp's nose. I can't imagine what that feels like, but it's gotta smart. I think Quinn almost wanted to see Ramon skin the guy so he would be off the hook. (Again, just a theory I'm trying out.)

Quinn's really playing Debra, if you ask me. Just when she gets really mad at him, he always manages to give her props when there is an audience. He gains her trust and she blabs that IA is after him. I don't know if that is such a good idea. He says Yuki is after him for personal reasons and he'll take care of it.

Yuki is a nasty girl and tries to get Debra to narc on Quinn again by threatening her with putting out a nasty rumor that she already is a rat.

Angel finally gets a date with Barbara Gianna - she uses my favorite word - "agita", so she's OK with me.  Loved that she tested him with the fake hooker to see if he'd go with her. He tells Barbara he doesn't like redheads. This could be very good for the lonely Angel.

Bad prosecuter, bad. That Ellen Wolf may end up on Dexter's list if she keeps up her nasty habits. The story that Miguel told Dexter about her made me sick. Meanwhile she's badmouthing Miguel to Laguerta. I expect there could be a showdown before the season ends.

Camilla is sick - why is she back? She must have something to tell Dexter or maybe Dexter is going to tell her his secret before her death. Maybe he will take away her pain. Killing from kindness rather than out of anger. I thought her comment about Dexter being able to do better than the key lime pie he just brought her, was a reference to finding a way to take away her pain. She has just mentioned the morphine that she is getting and alluded to the fact it wasn't do that good of a job.

Dexter sets up for the kill and leads Miguel to an empty house, hoping he'll forgive him that. He's ready to share the catching of the killers with his new BFF, but not necessarily the killing and dissecting. The ritual is a connection and is for Dexter and Dexter alone.

Some good lines:

Angel - "If you're wrong, everyone involved will be sh*tting blood through acts I'd rather not describe."

Camilla - "What do I get when I'm on the way out? F*cking pie crust, reddi whip and green Jello."

Dexter - "Be careful what you think you know about someone. You're probably wrong."

Dexter - "Loneliness is an art form."
