A big-city police captain leads a team that investigates separate cases. Police work rather than the officers' personal lives was emphasized, but star Robert Taylor's character did have a low-key romance with a reporter played by his real-life wife, Ursula Thiess. Originally titled `The Detectives Starring Robert Taylor', it was renamed `Robert Taylor's Detectives' (and expanded to an hour) when it moved from ABC to NBC in the fall of 1961.
