Himeko revives Ame no Murakumo by herself, but Chikane soon comes home, and the two discuss their experiences and what went wrong. Himeko is relieved when everything seems like it's back to normal—until Chikane announces her intention to kill her.
Himeko has a hard time accepting Chikane's betrayal, but is heartened by a reconciliation with her former roommate Makoto. Meanwhile, Chikane fights—and defeats—all of the Orochi until only Soma is left.
On another outing with Soma, Himeko buys a present for Chikane after noticing her friend has begun to act strangely around her, but it's Himeko who gets the biggest surprise when she returns to the mansion.
On their date, Soma and Himeko take shelter from the rain in an abandoned warehouse, but are later attacked by the Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Necks of the Orochi. Meanwhile, Chikane has another confrontation with Miyako, the Second Neck.
Chikane and Himeko learn the truth about their destiny and the nature of the ancient conflict between the Orochi and the priestesses, just in time for a battle with the Third Neck of the Orochi, Girochi.
High-school girls Himeko and Chikane are the respective reincarnations of the Solar and Lunar Miko, or Shrine Maidens, and they also share a birthday, which is when the evil Orochi are awakened and attack in a bid to rid the world of humanity and let darkness and nihilism reign.
