After Kelly Monaco's success on...

After Kelly Monaco's success on Dancing with the Stars, it's no surprise ABC would cast another soap diva for the second edition, which debuts Jan. 5. As previously reported here, Days of our Lives alumna Lisa Rinna — who cohosts Soap Talk on the ABC-owned cable channel SoapNet — is among the Stars expected to sign up. Since Lisa's my girl, rest assured that will cover this developing Dancing story with obsessive interest. read more

"Last year, you and I had a parallel life because I was on trial for a crime I never committed, and I was sent to prison, and when I got out, people loved me even more!" — Days of our Lives star Deidre Hall on NBC's Martha, comparing Marlena's soap-opera woes to Martha Stewart's real-life troubles. read more

Days of our Lives is making good...

Days of our Lives is making good on its promise to bring back more classic characters. Now that Austin Peck is back as Sami's ex-lover, Austin Reed, what better time for Christie Clark to return as Carrie, the half sister Sami once battled for his affections? She'll reappear on the NBC sudser in early December. "Days could not be more delighted that Christie Clark is returning to Salem," the show's rep tells "Since the [Carrie] character and the actress both grew up on the show, they are both an integral part of our history, on and off the screen. What a gas, gas, gas! Mick Jagger...

The soaps rock!

What a gas, gas, gas! Mick Jagger is guest-starring on Days of our Lives this month. Well, sort of. Actually, the music video for the new Rolling Stones single "Streets of Love" will premiere Oct. 18 on Days. And just in case you don't catch it then, the Stones tune will frequently be heard as a romantic theme during dramatic scenes over the next month. It's one of a series of colorful stunts marking the NBC sudser's 40th anniversary this year. If only Mick would visit Salem in the flesh to cure Marlena's pesky amnesia with a kiss. That's a giant lip-lock Deidre Hall wouldn't soon forget! read more

Premise: The Horton and Brady broods endure the romantic trials of life in Salem, a Midwestern hamlet filled with evil geniuses, star-crossed lovers and a rich family history. After a slow start, the soap earned a loyal following in spite of (or maybe because of) way-out-there plots, including satanic possession and mind control.
