Dancing with the Stars Episode Recap: Tuesday, April 24, 2012 Season 14, Episode 11

Dancing with the Stars boots another couple in the second week of the Dance Duel. Who wound up in the bottom two? Did Gladys overcome her 15-point deficit? Find out below!

Oh, Brooke. If you're gonna do the beehive updo, just go all the way. Don't half-ass it.

So is there any chance for Gladys? She's 15 points behind Katherine and Mark, and let's face it, is the weakest dancer left. Do the right thing, judges. Cut her loose on Motown Week. It's fitting.

First two safe couples:
Jaleel and Kym
William and Cheryl

Maria and Derek, and Melissa and Maks are in jeopardy.

After a weep-tastic performance by Michaela DePrince, a 17-year-old ballerina who was adopted from Sierra Leone as a child, we get the umpteenth package about how difficult the show is. You know, in case you missed it the first 439,302,671 times they've said it the past 14 seasons. Is it too soon for DanceCenter? Boyz II Men follow and somehow "Motownphilly" is not even mentioned. Ball. Dropped.

Next two safe couples:
Katherine and Mark
Donald and Peta

Gladys and Tristan, and Roshon and Chelsie are in jeopardy.

Next two safe couples:
Melissa and Maks
Maria and Derek

Gladys and Tristan, and Roshon and Chelsie are in the bottom two Dance Duel. Not totally surprising. They're the lowest-scoring couples with and without the marathon points. Since I'm pretty sure Gladys is outta here, Roshon needs to be concerned. He's clearly a good dancer with potential, but it's his second time in the bottom two in three weeks, and despite the boos in the audience last night, not enough were outraged to vote.

"We were hoping to dance tonight because what better way than for Gladys to open the show [yesterday] and to end it?" Tristan says. Amen.

Dance Duel
The dance is the jive, which, in fairness, neither has done. Needless to say, Roshon is better; he's sharp, and energetic Gladys is grooving as she always does, but next to Roshon, it's not gonna cut it. The whole thing is a foregone conclusion, into which Carrie Ann tries to infuse suspense by choosing to save Gladys and Tristan. Thankfully, Len and Bruno go the other way.

That means Gladys and Tristan are going home.

Sniff. Bye, Tristan! It's the right call. This is about as far as Gladys was expected to go with her ability and charm. "I am so amazed at this journey," she says. "I learned so many things, found so many friends and family. It's an honor to be on this show." Come back and sing, Gladys!

"I'll probably miss Gladys as much as I miss Ireland when I'm here," Tristan says in their goodbye package. "And I really, really miss Ireland." You can visit Ireland, Tristan. (And take me with you!) P.S. Can Tristan have a true contender next season, show?

What did you think? Did Gladys deserve the boot? Was it meant to be for her to leave on Motown Week? Are you surprised Roshon returned to the bottom two? How do you feel about the Dance Duel in its second week? How will we get our weekly dose of Tristan now? Who's your current pick to win?
