It's the final Duel of the season on Dancing with the Stars. Who did it claim as its last victim? Did Melissa and Maks overcome their 10-point deficit? Plus: Who returned to the ballroom?

The time has come, guys. It's the last Dance Duel! Yay! I don't know about you, but I'm not into the Duel at all. Despite what they claim the purpose is (to prevent another premature elimination), the fact that fan-voting is allowed means the show will never be purely skill-based. Plus, after trying to watch a split-screen the past two weeks, I'm pretty sure I'm cross-eyed now.

Maria and Derek, predictably, get the encore.

First three safe couples:
William and Cheryl
Donald and Peta
Katherine and Mark

Excuse me, I have something in my eye. And I think you do too. The ATT&T Spotlight Performance goes to Steelo Vazquez, a film/TV street dancer, who suffered a brain aneurysm in June and has since been relearning basic functions and how to dance again. This is his first public performance since the aneurysm and it's hands down one of the best moments in the show's history. "That was one of the most inspiring things I've ever seen," Derek says.

Gavin's in the house! To sing! And do some dancing, if you count that stage swagger. For all the big-name, buzz-y musical guests the show books, not many of its former musician contestants return to perform, much less two weeks after they were booted. Just another reason Gavin's awesome. Come back again before the finale, Gavin, OK?

Oh, hi, Paula Abdul in the audience. Say, you're free in the fall, right? If you've been following the online Ballroom Battle (I haven't), grooming future dance stars, then you surely must've enjoyed this thrilling conclusion! Team Cheryl vs. Team Tony vs. Team Louis. This reminds me of the Pick-a-Pro contest. Anna won... and we never heard from her again. Team Cheryl wins. Sadly, she gets nothing for her efforts, but her pupils receive a gold Unisphere-like trophy — without the map of the world. Because that would be weird.

Next two safe couples:
Maria and Derek
Melissa and Maks — in your face, judges!

That means Roshon and Chelsie, and Jaleel and Kym — aka the survivors of the past two Duels — are in the bottom two. It had to end this way, right? As much as I'm not a fan of the Duel, at least this is more leveled; the first two were foregone conclusions. I'm also not surprised at all that Melissa and Maks are safe. If the judges/producers/TPTB really want them out that badly, they should know by now not to go overboard with the negative comments and low scores (although, I do think their dance last night was terrible.) All that does is rile up his fan base and we all know he has a ginormous fan base. That being said, Melissa — the weakest dancer left — will probably bite it next week in the double elimination — which falls on her birthday.

Anyhow, Jaleel chooses to charm Len beforehand by describing him as an "old guy outside the grocery store who won't give a kid money for candy." Roshon offers to buy him ties. Because that's a manly thing to do? Where's Val when you need him?

Dance Duel
The dance is the rumba, which both couples have done. Jaleel is sturdier, as expected, than Roshon, but the kid is smoother and has more chemistry with Chelsie than Jaleel does with Kym. All three judges save Roshon and Chelsie, which means Urkel/Urquelle is going home.

"I really only thought I would last three dances ... and I wanted three good dances," Jaleel says. "To get this far, I've made incredible friends. The fans have been incredible. I love Roshon Fegan. I'm happy they saved him. He has a bright future. Len, give him a 10! He's the kid outside the grocery store."

Did anyone expect this after the first week? I didn't. But it's been an uphill climb for Jaleel on and off the floor since the premiere.

What did you think? Did Jaleel deserve the boot? Are you glad the Dance Duel is over? When will the judges learn to not piss off Maks' fans? Were you moved by Steelo's story? Is Len an old man outside the grocery store? Can Gavin come back forever? Who's your current pick to win?
