Dancing with the Stars Episode Recap: Tuesday, April 13, 2010 Season 10, Episode 7

Eight is enough for Dancing with the Stars, so one more couple will get eliminated. Did Monday's two-score format shake things up? Let's find out!

There's no tweet from Tom this week about a shocking bottom two, so does this mean Kate is leaving? Probably not. Anyhow, we get down to business right away.

First two safe couples:

Chad and Cheryl (He's pumped and goes in for a kiss with Jake)
Jake and Chelsie (He's pumped, but doesn't go in a for kiss with Chad)

Recap time! Unlike last week, Len does not want to retroactively score anyone lower. Maks, however, doesn't understand how he and Erin earned a trio of 6s for one slip-up she did. Niecy hopes she stays because she wants to do the fast dances since "all these skinny girls have nothing to shake." Nicole is crying over her nerve-racked performance (reminder: She got a 50): "This is me. I'm an artist; I'm not like other people." So what are "other people" like? Kate feels like her performance "was the best ever." Let's hope she means personal best. Chad wants everyone to vote because "The longer I'm on the show, the more of a chance I have to win her heart ... Someday, I can be a Burke." Ease up, dude. Pam is happy the judges "liked the magic." Unsurprisingly, she and Damian get the encore.

Next week is movie night, where couples will perform to iconic songs from movies. And so, we get a pseudo-trailer for Tuesday the 13th, in which Bruno is Jason terrorizing the ballroom — in a sequined mask, of course.

Sade performs "Babyfather" next, accompanied by a lovely routine from Chelsie and Damian. I personally prefer their later performance of "The Sweetest Taboo." Old school beats new school.

Next safe couple:
Evan and Anna (Yay, Anna makes it past Week 4 for the first time since Season 2!)

The Future of Ballroom
Mark has choreographed a number for young(er) competitive ballroom dancers. (Remember: Chelsie's 20.) Before we get to it, we're treated to a rather adroable package of the pros' early dancing days. See, these kinds of fluff pieces are nice. Damian was a late bloomer, starting at 10. Chelsie hated it when she was younger. Maks the chubster ended up dancing because he was a crappy actor. Derek, Mark and Julianne were the dominant Ballas Brat Pack on the competitive circuit. (Hough gets no love in the name?) Edyta's been wearing skimpy costumes since she was 12. And Tony once tossed a guy into the audience for stepping on his partner's foot three times. Don't mess! The routine itself with the new kids on the block is fun, fiery and lively. The scary thing is: They'll probably be the pros by Season 15 ... since that's only two and a half years away.

More fake trailers! Cha-chablanca tells the stirring tale of a dancer (Evan) torn between his current partner and another woman (Niecy). "Of all the dance studios in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine," he says. "Play it again, Harold," Niecy tells the musical director. It's way more awesome than Tuesday the 13th, but they lose points for no "I think this is the beginning of a beautiful partnership."

A sneak peek at Glambo: First Dance follows, starring a shirtless and oil-slicked Tony as a "dancer without boundaries." No comment.

Next two safe couples:
Nicole and Derek
Pam and Damian

Macy's Stars of Dance
Tiler Peck, Danny Tidwell and Nuttin' But Stringz perform a pretty rockin' number with violins. Nothing tops classical hip-hop!

Backstage, an uber-giddy Kate tells Brooke she doesn't want to leave and that she loves Tony and is thankful for his patience. Brooke can't care less and sends them back out on stage so she can get more overly flirtatious gems from Chad about his progress: "A woman loves a man she can mold."

"Is it just me or is Chad about three compliments away from sounding really desperate?" Tom quips.

Next safe couple:
Erin and Maks

Time for one last faux trailer: It's Dance Another Day, starring Double Ochocinco — wielding a gadget-y football — in a race agaisnt time to reach the last ballroom on earth that "has a date with destruction." Intense. Aiden, in a glittery eyepatch, is the villain. I'm enjoying this way more than I should, mostly because Aiden told me he didn't want to do a Bond gimmick on the show — in a routine, of course. And because Hollywood's so unoriginal, coming next summer is Jaymes Blonde, starring Pam.

Next safe couple:
Kate and Tony

So Kate has still never been under the Red Light of Doom. Tom tells us that Niecy and Louis, and Aiden and Edyta are not necessarily the bottom two couples, so does that mean Kate and Tony is one? Or someone else?

And the couple going home is ... Aiden and Edyta!

Louis is shocked; Aiden, not so much. He looks resigned to it. "It's all right," he says. He tells Tom he gave it his all and had the best time Monday dancing with Edyta. Poor Edyta: 10 seasons, 0 Mirrorballs. If that's not bad luck, I don't know what is. But the 11th time's a charm, right? Tom tells Aiden that he's never seen the audience give an exiting Week 4 couple a standing ovation until now. All together now: Aww.

What did you think? Did Aiden deserve to go? Do you like Kate's new 'tude? Who else do you think was in the bottom two? Did you like the pros' old-school dance footage? What do you think of the movie trailers? Which movie tunes do you hope they use next week? Is Edyta ever going to win a Mirrorball? How desperate does Chad sound? Who's your pick to win? Vote below!
