Dancing with the Stars Episode Recap: Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009 Season 9, Episode 3

After two nights of dancing, it's only fitting that two couples will get the boot on Season 9's first results show. Which two unlucky pairs saw their Dancing with the Stars days come to an end? Find out below!

To no one's surprise, Kelly and Louis get the encore for their Viennese waltz, and she's still looking divine. It looks like only mom is here for the results. Is Ozzy too nervous? Your girl is safe, Oz. Next comes the confession package for the women (um, what about the dudes?) during which Macy took Carrie Ann's "fascinating, innocent and bizarre" critique as a compliment. "I'm like a fruit bar." I don't know about you, but I wouldn't eat that fruit bar.

Getting down to business already. Nice. I guess you need to with 16 friggin' couples. The men are up first.

Men's Elimination
First two safe couples:
Louie and Chelsie
Aaron and Karina

Save the little boys first. That's cute. After a performance from Sean Kingston (pee break!), we learn about the exclusive Losers' Club, courtesy of Kenny Mayne, Penn Jillette and Jeffrey Ross. Counting celebrities or near-celebrities as members, the Losers' Club only grants membership one way: you must suck. The trio eagerly awaits its new member.

Next safe couples:

Mark and Lacey (What's with the delayed reaction, cha-cha Chairman?)
Chuck and Anna
Donny and Kym
Tom and Cheryl
Michael and Anna

That means it's adios for Ashley and Edyta. Ashley says he's grateful for the time, and Edyta thinks he had more to offer. I think he did too, but he came in with virtually no fan base and really stunk up the joint on Monday. Or maybe he just didn't tan enough. Pops George is beaming with pride on the side. So what's more embarrassing: Getting the boot first or knowing your AARP card-carrying dad made it to fifth place?

(By the way, what has happened to Courteney Cox's face? Don't do this to yourself, C.C. You were always the hottest Friend.)

Time for the ladies!

Womens's Elimination
First two safe couples:
Natalie and Alec
Mya and Dmitry

We pause for Adam Carolla's pep talk to the boys. Bitter that the Mirrorball has been in the hands of their female counterparts for the past three seasons, he notes that the last time a guy won, Len was in the war, Carrie Ann was in diapers and Bruno was in the closet. Always encouraging, he gets in Donny's and Ashley's faces about their diminutive and feminine names; Mark about his tan, Tom about being, uh, old, white and Republican; Chuck about going into the "rectagon;" and Michael about eyeballing him. And oh yeah, Adam likes Kathy's scent — as in her candles.

OK, no pee break for the Macy's Stars of Dance performance with the cast of The Lion King. I love The Lion King. It's one of the two movies I've cried watching. The other is Stepmom when Susan Sarandon tells Julia Roberts, "I have their past. You have their future." Tear. No tears for DeLay, though, during the Lion King performance. "You should've seen the smile on Tom DeLay's face when the Lion King people brought out the enormous elephant," the Berge quips. Oh, Berge! Where's your Emmy already?

Next safe couples:
Melissa and Mark
Joanna and Derek
Debi and Maks

Next up is the much talked-about Patrick Swayze tribute. It's a medley of "She's Like the Wind," "Unchained Melody" and "(I've Had the) Time of My Life." I would've liked for it to be longer and feature all of the pros, but it's still a lovely homage to their late pal. The ending was perfect, with the whole cast coming out onto the dance floor in applause. R.I.P. Swayze.

Last two safe couples:
Kelly and Louis (Why did they even save them for the last segment? Lame.)
Kathy and Tony

That means Macy "Fruit Bar" Gray and Jonathan are going bye-bye. No big surprise, but I'm sad for Jonathan. By my count, he's now the first pro with the dubious distinction of being eliminated first three times. And they're three consecutive times for him at that (he skipped Season 7). Someone give him a contendah next season! Or maybe Marie has just ruined him for life.

So that's that. Next week, we're back to normal with everyone dancing Monday. What did you think of the results? Did Ashley and Macy deserve the boot? Are you bummed for Jonathan too? Do you consider Macy a "fruit bar"? What did you think of the Swayze tribute? Could you have done without the "premiere" of Miley Cyrus' hot-pants-struttin' new video? Did Adam's pep talk fire you up? Who's your favorite to win? Vote below, and be sure to check out our exclusive behind-the-scenes rehearsal footage of Kelly and Louis.
