One last couple is eliminated as Dancing with the Stars sets its final three. Who came up just short? Find out below!

So this is it, people. Who goes? Will Bristol hang on yet again? First, we must kill some time with an encore of Brandy and Maks' Argentine tango, a performance from Annie Lennox and a fluff piece from the semifinalists of the couples sharing what they learned about themselves. Cliff notes version: Dancing is hard, but you'd be surprised at what you can do if you push yourself. Never heard that one before. Can someone please consider a 30-minute results show when it's down to so few people? Pretty please? Idol's doing it!

Twenty minutes in, we finally get down to business:

First round of results:
Jennifer and Derek are safe.

Macy's Stars of Dance
Here's the Design-a-Dance y'all voted for: the cha-cha by Derek and Cheryl to Billy Joel's "It's Still Rock and Roll to Me." It's a groovy little retro number that makes me realize how rarely we ever see Derek and Cheryl partnered together. Good call, y'all!

More filler! Those wise ol' pros (all four have been to the finals) share their opinions on their respective competition. Maks didn't predict these four semifinalists at the beginning of the season. Um, who did? Maybe half of them (and you know which two I'm talking about), but these four? Derek raves about Kyle being a showman, Lacey says Bristol's learned to show personality (are we sure about that?), Maks says Jennifer's technique is top-notch, and Mark says Brandy has confidence... but it seems like she wants to win the whole thing too badly when she should be focusing on it one week at a time. Ah, backhanded compliment! Love it! Can't really say I disagree with him. Brandy's repeated proclamations that she needs to win and that she works harder than anyone else reeks of desperation even if she doesn't mean for it to be.

Next round of results:
Kyle and Lacey are safe.

After a performance by Enrique Iglesias that was an odd combo of Auto-Tune and deafening acoustics (is it just me or does he look, like, 10 years younger?), it's down to the last two. Brandy vs. Bristol! They are not necessarily the bottom two. Len says Brandy's impressed him every week and doesn't think anyone has had such a journey as Bristol has.

And the couple going home is... Brandy and Maks.

And the boos ensue. Brandy says she doesn't know how she feels. Tom asks about the ongoing trend of high-scoring couples getting the boot (aka "Why is Bristol still here?"). Maks goes PC and says he loves that the show represents the people's choice and that he doesn't regret any second of the season. Bruno is shocked and stresses that everyone must vote. He says he was looking forward to Brandy's freestyle and wants them to do a freestyle on Tuesday. Brandy cries on Maks' shoulder as their farewell package plays.

So another shocker and another undeserved boot. I can't say that I'm surprised that Brandy was the one booted for Bristol out of the three true contenders. Brandy and Maks looked like they were expecting it too once it was down to Brandy and Bristol. Brandy's one hell of a dancer, but she's not as beloved as Jennifer or as charismatic and fun as Kyle, who has slowly won over more and more fans. There was too much drama, manufactured or not, involving them, culminating in Maks' tiff last week with Carrie Ann. Going first on Monday and coming in third on the leader board didn't help. Speaking of the leader board, the judges need to stop complaining about people not voting. Yes, votes matter, but they're not all that determine the results. They have coddled and overscored Bristol for weeks and tossed her softball critiques while unfairly chewing out others like Michael and Kurt.

So that's that. Jennifer vs. Kyle vs. Bristol. Did anyone see this final three coming? What do you think of the results? Are you shocked and disappointed that Brandy got the boot? Is Bristol the Pistol going to take it all? Who can stop her?
