CSI: Miami Episode Recap: "Dissolved" Season 7, Episode 24

Jimmy Castagen is at a party at Ron Saris' house where he brags about all the people he's killed. Ron tells him to be careful and Jimmy accuses him of talking to the police. Ron then pushes him in the pool, which is apparently not filled with water after all but some sort of acid. We watch this guy die a horrific death. The CSIs are on the scene, but there's no sign of Tara.

They determine it's not acid in the pool but rather highly concentrated Alkalai which needs to be neutralized with vinegar. Horatio is informed that Saris was the "witness" that called it in. Saris says he was the target and he didn't know the pool was filled with acid.  He also says that he thinks Julia was the one targeting him because she blames him for the attack to her face.

They neutralize the pool and pull out the body. Eric takes a mysterious call.  He later tells Calleigh it was the lab calling.

Travers determines the acid-like substance to be sodium hydroxide which when mixed with water boils and burns. They think it was put in through the pool's filtration system which is behind locked doors. They track down the pool cleaner who denies knowing about anything about it. He says his truck was broken into a few days ago and the master keys were stolen.

Horatio is trying to reach Julia when Kyle walks in. He says Julia has been calling her non-stop.  Julia calls from Kyle's house and hangs up on Horatio. Horatio goes over to the house and confronts Julia and asks her if she threatened Ron. She won't answer and also says she doesn't need to be on her meds anymore.

Natalia informs Horatio that the threatening note from Ron's was not a match to Julia. Eric finds animal hair in the impounded car from the pool guy's car, probably from a cow or deer.

Horatio and Wolfe go to a tannery where sodium hydroxide is used to tan cow leather. They go to the old treatment building, now closed, where they find decomposing bodies in barrels filled with the sodium hydroxide and water combo. They also find a cigar cab on the ground and who smokes cigars but Ron Saris. He tells Stetler and Horatio that he followed Jimmy to the warehouse in order to find out more about him and what he had done.

Ryan and Dr. Price find a wedding ring on one of the bodies found at the tannery. They track down his wife who says he had gone to pick up her sister and brother-in-law when they all vanished. He told her about the second set of male remains, but also told her no third body had been found and so there was a chance her sister Rebecca was still alive.

Ryan meets Horatio at the CSI's locker room where they go into Tara's locker (with a search warrant). They find Stephanie Velesquez's prescription in her locker, the one she blamed Julia for taking from the victim, among other bottles.

Tripp and Calleigh go to Shawn Eckels house where there's a dead wild boar. Jimmy Castegan named him as an accomplice in three murders. He denies any wrongdoing.

In the morgue, Ryan is able to match the other prescriptions in Tara's locker to other victims. Tara sees him and a then a gunshot rings out. Julia is there with a gun and tells Ryan to put away his weapon. She tells Kyle to come with her. He tells her to put the gun down. Horatio comes in and tells her she was right and he was wrong about the pills. She says she wanted to be a family and puts the gun to her head. Horatio grabs it and they arrest her.

Tara is cleaning up and Ryan insists on waiting with her and walking out with her. Horatio meanwhile is talking with Julia who realizes Kyle is better off without her.

Eric tells Calleigh the truth about who he was talking to on the phone. It was his father, setting up the season finale. Calleigh tells him to be careful. They discover the murder victims were frozen to stop the smell before they could dispose of them and that the hunter, Shawn Eckels had a freezer big enough to keep a person. They find Rebecca's body there.

When they bring him in for questioning, he gets mad and knocks water off the table which interacts with his leather shoes that have sodium hydroxide on them causing a reaction and proving that he was also the one that killed Jimmy. Horatio tries to prove Julia is mentally unstable to stand trial and Tara is arrested.

A lot went down in the episode. What do you think is in store for the season finale?
