Mega Buzz: Scandal's Misdirect, The Newsroom's New Outlook and a Sons Death?

Kerry Washington, Jeff Daniels, Katey Sagal

Now that Jake has been arrested, please tell me that Olivia will finally find out that Rowan was behind Jerry's death on Scandal. — Denise

Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like that reveal is coming any time soon. "You always think it can't go on any longer, but they twist it in a way you didn't even think of," star Brian Letscher, who plays Tom, teases of the (inevitable?) reveal. "Rowan is a master manipulator .... and the ripple effects of Tom [saying Jake ordered him to kill Jerry] affect a lot of people in ways he never imagined."

Got anything about the final season of The Newsroom? — Ashley

The season premiere is set around the events of the Boston Marathon bombing and, owing to ACN's screw-up with the Operation Genoa story last season, everyone is appropriately gun shy about reporting the "facts" of the story too quickly... read more

Ratings: Stalker Doesn't Quite Catch Fire

Stalker

Stalker found an OK following Wednesday.

The CBS drama opened to 9.1 million viewers and a 2.0 in the adults 18-to-49 demographic, even with CSI's performance in the slot last year. Survivor (9.5 million, 2.4) kicked off CBS' night down three tenths from ...

Mega Buzz: Walking Dead's Villain, a Grey's Secret and Fire's Replacement

I am dying for some Walking Dead scoop. Got anything? — Matt
This season certainly doesn't waste any time getting into the action! Look for a very bloody first episode that offers some quick answers about the people of Terminus. Remember when executive producer Robert Kirkman told us that Terminus leader Gareth was not the season's major villain? That doesn't mean he isn't sufficiently creepy!

The conversation between Richard and Maggie on last week's Grey's Anatomy was so upsetting. Is he ever going to tell her that he's her father? — Karen
After her less-than-great first impression of Meredith, it's pretty clear that Maggie isn't jumping at the chance to incorporate more new relatives into her life.... read more

Jennifer Love Hewitt's "Fearless" Agent and a Jane Lynch Return? 7 Teases for Criminal Minds Season 10

Shemar Moore, Thomas Gibson, Jennifer Love Hewitt

Erica Messer can't think of a more perfect day for Criminal Minds to turn 10.

"Episode 10.1 airs on 10/1. How cool is that?" Messer tells TVGuide.com. "It wasn't planned. We didn't know that until we started back up and we were well in the swing of things, and [CBS] mentioned that the premiere would be a little later than usual because of Extant and Survivor. So it's great timing."

Fall TV: Hot scoop on your favorite returning shows

But for Messer, "seven" is the magic number for Season 10. After Jeanne Tripplehornleft the series in the Season 9 finale, Messer told TVGuide.com at the time that she wasn't sure if they would replace her or just stick with the remaining six BAU members. "It was a really big, long conversation with the network and the studio, and they said, 'Let's go ahead and try to find someone new,'" she says.

Enter Jennifer Love Hewitt as Kate Callahan. The actress was not only ...

Do you have any new info on The Blacklist's new season? —  Roger
How about some exclusive casting news? Tony-nominated Broadway veteran Norm Lewis — who is currently starring in the title role of The Phantom of the Opera and did a stint last season on Scandal — has been tapped to play J.P. Laskin, a business associate of Red's who doesn't exactly agree with his recent moves in the ongoing war with Berlin. In fact, I hear Laskin may even be tempted to switch sides. Of course, once Red finds out about the betrayal, he'll probably make the choice for him. Perhaps playing a "phantom" will come in handy!

I'm really curious to see how Nick and Jess are doing after their break-up last season on
New Girl. What will their dynamic be like when the show returns? — Lindsay
Four months have passed since Nick and Jess were last romantically involved, but unfortunately for Jess, it's been a bit of a slow summer in the love department... read more

Mega Buzz: The New Doctor Who and Sons' and Boardwalk's Final Seasons

Peter Capaldi, Charlie Hunnam, Steve Buscemi

Each week, executive editor Adam Bryant satisfies your need for TV scoop. Please send all questions to mega_scoop@tvguide.com.

What can you tell me about Twelve and Clara's dynamic on Doctor Who? — Aisha
Things will be very different between the pair now that the Doctor — to put it gently — has a few more years on him. In fact, without her schoolgirl crush influencing her, Clara begins to come into her own and be more assertive in their relationship. "I think she succeeds in dominating him, telling him what to do," Peter Capaldi teases. But don't expect him to be a total pushover. "She can only get so far with that," Capaldi says. "Then he'll turn. He often turns."

What is Juice up to when the new season of Sons of Anarchy begins? — Luke
Since he both "betrayed" Jax and killed the sheriff to protect Gemma, he's understandably keeping a low profile. Naturally, his hideout is soon discovered, which forces Juice to take even more drastic action to keep his secret safe.... read more

Mega Buzz: True Blood's Cure, an NCIS Return, and a Vampire Diaries Mystery

Bill can't die! I know everyone does on True Blood, but please tell me that he takes the cure. — Andrea
With only two episodes to go, there are a lot of narrative threads to tie up, including the issue of Bill's mortality. I will only say this: At least one original cast member will say goodbye for good this week. In possibly related news, a longstanding love triangle will be resolved and you'll see one of the show's weirdest — and funniest — sex scenes between a long-unrequited pair.

I can't believe they're already giving DiNozzo a new love interest on NCIS. — Susan
I'm sure there are 'shippers out there who never want to see Tony with anyone but Ziva, but that 'ship has sailed. Or has it? ... read more

Mega Buzz: A True Blood Sacrifice, Once's Parental Secrets and a Castle Reset?

Alexander Skarsgard, Georgina Haig, Nathan Fillion

Will Sarah escape from Eric on True Blood— Boris
Aww, did you want her to live? That's cute. She'll soon get what she deserves, but you might be surprised by how the standoff at the Light of Day camp goes down. "I see the cars pull up, and I actually end up deciding to sacrifice myself," Anna Camp says. "I believe that I am the new Messiah, and the best thing to do is to tell the truth and to go out there and just surrender." Sarah does realize there's no way in hell they'll take mercy on her, right?

Do you know if Once Upon a Time's Frozen adaptation takes place before or after the movie? — Dave
A little bit of both, actually. "There... read more

Premise: A procedural thriller about the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit, which profiles criminals to solve crimes. The ensemble drama relies on the diversity of the team, which includes a young genius and a seasoned leader tortured by a past case. Unlike other crime dramas that focus on science, this series is very cerebral and almost Holmesian in its deductive analysis of the crimes and their perpetrators.
