Episode Detail: Crossroads - Craft in America

The evolution of American crafts is examined through the works of furniture designer Tanya Aguiñiga, textile artist Lia Cook and potters Warren MacKenzie, Jeff Oestreich and Clary Illian. The L.A.-based Aguiñiga explores color, texture and minimalism; Cook, who works out of Berkeley, Cal., combines weaving and painting, photography and digital technology; and the Midwest-based MacKenzie, Oestreich and Illian adhere to the Mingei philosophy of creating traditional items for everyday use.
