This elderly Texan, determined to make her way back to a town that time and everyone but she has forgot, bristles with restless gumption, fueled by an indomitable spirit that erupts in hymns she can't stop humming — or singing, as in a memorable scene set in a deserted bus station after midnight.

Premise: A Peabody and Emmy Award-winning 13-part odyssey through the universe. As well as being informative, the documentary made science fun with the use of impressive special effects and a clear and understandable presentation of facts, enhanced by host Carl Sagan's almost gee-whiz (and much parodied) enthusiasm for the subject.
