In the season finale, Nigel and Ken are summoned to Pasa Robles for a meeting with the winery owner who canceled the contract to buy their grapes. Nigel also attends a party thrown by Priscilla Presley. And he takes in Pasa Robles' 76th Pioneer Day, where he's unavoidably detained, forcing Ken to handle “American Idol” auditions in Memphis alone.
With lost contracts, a fire, gophers and squirrels plaguing the winery, Nigel and Ken head to Pasa Robles to try to turn things around. Back in L.A., “American Idol” is doing somewhat better, and it's Emmy time.
In the series opener, “American Idol” producers Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick tour properties in the Pasa Robles, Cal., area and decide to buy one. But then some of their financial partners decide to back out.
