Matt Ryan wasn't a Comic-Con newbie this year, but the star of NBC's upcoming series Constantine took the experience to a different level last month in San Diego. The Welsh actor, who describes his experience as "just wow," attended the geek heaven convention last year for the video game Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, for which he'd done the motion capture for the character of Edward Kenway. But this year, as the star of the highly anticipated adaptation of the cult comic book hit Hellblazer, he was under a much brighter spotlight.

NBC Chairman Bob Greenblatt did everything but launch into a chorus of "I've Gotta Crow" — a song from Peter Pan, the next live musical on the network's slate (on Dec. 4) — as he bullishly opened the network portion of the TCA summer press tour on Sunday. (One of his buzzier announcements involved naming Christopher Walken as that show's Captain Hook.)

The network announced that it has cast Oscar winner Christopher Walken as Captain Hook in its live musical production of Peter Pan, which will air Dec. 4. "Funny, right?" NBC Chairman Bob Greenblatt said at the Television Critics Association fall previews on Sunday. "He's one of the most unique actors... but he's just really a song and dance man at heart... It'll be the first tap-dancing Captain Hook you've ever seen."
