In an insanely epic episode of Community, the gang (plus Chang, minus Pierce) attempts to restore the confidence of "Fat Neil", a portly student at Greendale, through a game of Dungeons & Dragons.
While the entire episode takes place around the study group table, the viewer is somehow transported to a far-away time and place. All seems to be going well until Pierce shows up and demands his place in the game. After being banished due to his continuous shaming of Neil, he collects all Dungeons and Dragons knowledge and takes over the game.
The game results in Pierce being put in his place, and Fat Neil enjoying the greatest game of his life. Balance was truly restored between good....and Pierce.
I personally enjoyed, and laughed aloud at, the following:
-Chang's "dark elf" makeup
-The revised theme song (which always makes for an amazing episode)
-"You are the AT&T of people" (Troy to Britta)
-"Shouldn't there be a board or pieces... or something to Jenga?"
-"I'm Hector the well-endowed" (spoken by Annie)
-"What am I not good at?" (asked by Jeff, answered by Britta: "sex")
-Chang's shriek when he dies, and the Lord of the Rings theme-music when he is cast away
-"I hump it"
-"If that's sarcasm I can't tell because everything in this game is silly."
- The cleaning lady's narration, especially, this: "And so, it was that the group began to describe themselves walking, and as they described themselves walking, so it was that Abed confirmed that they walked."
-"Huzzah! Is that right?"
-Abed as a gnome
-The mimed sexual congress between Hector the well-endowed (Annie) and the Elf Maiden (Abed), through which Troy takes notes
-The death of the gnome waiter, Kyle . . . the most horrific death in television
-"This is why I wanted to play Chutes and Ladders"
In the end, although Pierce takes over with his newly-found knowledge of D&D (yeah that's right) and puts Neil down further than he's ever been put down in his life, he ends up enjoying the greatest game of his life and experiences the entire group pitying Pierce . . . and he even asks him to play again next week. Personally, another episode like this would be a blessing. Huzzah!
