Community Episode Recap: Aerodynamics of Gender Season 2, Episode 7

This week's Community episode brings about a true battle of the sexes. A group of "mean girls" begin a war with Shirley, Annie and Britta (and Abed, who has chosen to join the girls). While they initially refuse Abed's company, they soon realize that he has an amazing ability to seek out "b-tches" and hit them where it hurts — anywhere that may cause emotional pain. Abed soon becomes a Terminator of hunting down the meanest of girls and tormenting them with insults. He even begins viewing the world in a Terminator-like computer mode, analyzing each person he faces and discovering their most vulnerable points.

The girls love the new Abed though they soon become addicted, not only tormenting the guilty parties but any and every girl who stands in their way. This ultimately makes them the "mean girls" and Abed a female-destroying machine that's out of control. I was desperately hoping for a scene where he saw himself in the mirror, analyzed and furiously insulted himself until he self-destructed. But, alas, he ends up just "making things right" with the head of the opposing gang (played by Hilary Duff) just when things had grown to intense and the entire female community had been hit by his insults (even the gals of the study group). Abed gives Meghan (Duff) a playbook of insults for him and the world continues to spin on its axis.

While the girls are off emotionally destroying the campus, Jeff and Troy have discovered a magical garden aside the basketball court where Troy was taking Jeff to school (calling himself "The Bus Driver"). This secret garden was beautifully lit, majestic, clean and was home to a large trampoline. Each jump on the trampoline provided Jeff and Troy with a state of bliss — the feel of "the world's whisper," the feeling at the apex of each bounce. First they were just jumping, but then ... they were bouncing! (Like on the knee of a Goddess) The only other person who knows of this place is a groundskeeper (played by the hilarious Matt Walsh) who warns them not to tell anyone else of what they've found and never to "double bounce."

Of course the serenity could not last long as Pierce soon spies on them via his remote-control dragon-flier (equipped with a camera). He finds the garden and gets giddy with each jump, finally forcing Troy to double bounce him and destroy all that was of the magical garden they found. Well, that or the fact that the groundskeeper was actually a Nazi.
