Now that the dust has settled on the insanity that was the finale of Season 1 and the premiere of Season 2, Greendale Community College finds itself in the midst of Octoberfest. As nothing is of the norm at Greendale, this will consist of a dance (surely one of many throughout the school year) and a "pop 'n lock" break dancing competition. This brings about the funniest group name since Kathleen Turner Overdrive (see High Fidelity)...the Heather Pop 'n Locklears. Once again, Chang makes a more than thorough attempt to join the group by showing off his many robotic dance moves.
A face from Jeff's past also shows up on campus — Allen, a lawyer from Jeff's old firm played by Rob Corddry. The two were apparently so close and great at their jobs, they were referred to as "The Litterbugs" because they put so much trash back on the streets. Allen is on campus for Narcotics Anonymous. Interestingly enough, this is how Annie recognizes him, and she remembers that he let it slip that he framed Jeff out of his old job.
In an effort to get Jeff (who has been sucked back in to the lawyer scene) back, the group decides to sneak in to the firm, prove Allen framed Jeff, and get Jeff away from the man who ruined his life. Even when Jeff is told of his friend's betrayal, he simply explains that he is not a great friend but he is a great lawyer. To prove their point Abed, Troy and Annie sneak in to an office in the firm to find the email that cost Jeff his job. Abed, in his own fashion, is equipped with chloroform which Annie does not hesitate to use on a janitor that discovers their presence.
As one would suspect, the truth does come out and Jeff realizes that his study group members are his true friends. He understands this and returns to school, just in time to rescue the group in the break dancing competition, which Chang has been covering for hours while everyone was away. Jeff's puppet move was impressive, but the group ends up coming in second. This ends up being in everyone's best interest, as they promised Chang he could join the group if they won.
Once again, we see Chang lose his mind over this occurrence to end the show.
Oh, and Drew Carey played Jeff and Allen's old boss!
