Two teams of four college undergrads put their educations to the test, answering tough questions from fields that include literature, math, art, sports, science and pop culture. The winning school received scholarship money and the right to return the following week. The quiz began as a radio broadcast with moderator Allen Ludden, who went on to host the TV version; he was succeeded by Robert Earle in 1962. Dick Cavett hosted Disney Channel's brief revival titled `College Bowl '87.'
