Is this it? After a rocky early going, the Joss Whedon series hit its stride mid-season — storywise, that is. Ratings, unfortunately, are another story, which may make tonight's first-season finale the finale, period. The episode continues Alpha's Echo obsession, wraps up Ballard's Dollhouse search and finds an Active being permanently disabled — let's just hope the same isn't so for the show itself.
