Disney stars and real-life BFFs Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez give appealing performances in this charming 2009 cable comedy that tweens will likely devour. Lovato is pampered princess Rosalinda Marie Montoya Fiore, who is soon to be crowned queen of her tiny nation, Costa Luna. But a neighboring dictator launches a military coup, and Rosalinda is rescued by the Princess Protection Program and relocated to rural Louisiana. There she rooms with Carter (Gomez), a local teen who is her polar opposite. Sparks fly. But a budding friendship is also ignited.

8 pm/ET
Fox's Lie to Me wore its new time slot well, topping the hour with 11.12 million total viewers — a 9 percent increase over its most recent, après-Idol audience. CBS' sitcombo placed second, with both Old Christine (7.63 mil, +310K) and Gary Unmarried (7.71 mil, +450K) seeing gains. Top Model was looking pretty in third (!) place, surging 15 percent from its premiere to 4.47 mil.
NBC's Chopping Block barely bested Scrubs repeats with an audience of under 4 mil — the Peacock's lowest-rated premiere of the season.
9 pm
American Idol unveiled its "Judges' Save" twist to 24.9 million viewers, an increase of 11 percent from last Wednesday's results show (yet down 6 percent year-over-year). Criminal Minds came in second with 14 mil. Life, at 5.3 mil, was up 430 thou. Lost returns next week!
10 pm
CSI: NY dominated with 13.52 million viewers, up 820K week-to-week. Law & Order followed with 7.6 mil (up 440K). Life on Mars continued to die on the vine, dropping 19 percent to 4.58 mil.

Solid? Dependable? A "rock"? Doesn't sound much like Christine, but that is exactly what a fellow scatterbrained mom (the always hilarious Kristen Johnston) considers her to be. At first, Christine takes to the compliment and the new friendship, but she soon tires of being the responsible one. It was only a matter of time.
