Question: You have no idea what big fans me and my friend Jenny are of yours. Will you marry one of us? Also, can you please tell us what show The O.C. is going to be crossing over with?Answer: Since you're my biggest fans, I'll give you another clue: A character from The O.C. will leave town next month to take a job at Seattle Grace. But, and I can't stress this enough, this is probably news to Shonda Rhimes. I should also point out that this "crossover" is more amusing than anything else. At least it's amusing to me. Speaking of The O.C., Josh Schwartz sent me the first four episodes and it's killing me that I haven't had time to watch them yet. I'm hoping to plow through them this weekend. In the meantime, AA intern Scott Sode just finished watching them at his desk (Best. Internship. Ever.) and it appears Mr. Schwartz is taking my

Tim Daly, The Nine
ABC's The Nine, which premiered just last week, wasted no time in stirring up all kinds of questions and mysteries, first and foremost being, as the ad campaign says, "What happened in there?" For the show's second episode (airing tonight at 10 pm/ET), we stole a few minutes with TV vet Tim Daly, who plays not-good-but not-entirely-bad cop Nick Cavanaugh.
TVGuide.com: The way you saw it, how did Nick differ from other roles you have been offered over the years?Tim Daly: I like Nick because he's a very human character. He's flawed. He's the kind of guy who creates all his own problems. He's a guy who's in the police force, which relies on people obeying the chain of command, and he has a horrible problem with authority. He's got this gambling problem, an ex-wife, he's a wiseass... and yet he's a really good guy, and I thought there was an opportunity to see him change significantly, as we do with all these characters, after he goes

Question: I feel compelled to write to you in defense of Shannen Doherty. I understand that her new show, Oxygen's Breaking Up with Shannen Doherty, isn't exactly what you'd consider great TV, so I have no problem with you expressing your disdain for the premise. I can also see your point that if Shannen wants to change people's perception of her, then she should stop playing along with her public image by taking jobs like this. I guess I would have appreciated it if you made an effort to acknowledge that she has done good work in the past. I've been a fan of hers since Our House, and I watched 90210 faithfully until she left the show. The same thing with Charmed — once Shannen left, so did I. Both shows lasted many years after she left, but they were never as much fun. She's also been in some decent TV-movies. I remember one with her and Kevin Dillon as a couple who were accused of killing their daughter. It was a great role for her, and completely unlike anything I'd seen her in ...

Question: Do you think they should start a brand-new series of Charmed called "The Charmed Sons," featuring Piper's two boys, Wyatt and Chris? I know I would like it. I dearly miss Charmed, and I've been watching it since I was 8 years old.
Answer: Now that you've grown up, what better time than to face this reality of TV life: No TV show lasts forever. Let it go. (The more serious answer would be to note that part of the Charmed appeal was in its empowered female characters. A show built around two male offspring wouldn't have the same allure, I'm guessing. But since I wouldn't be watching regardless, I may not be the appropriate person to ask.) ...

Question: I was just wondering if you'd had the opportunity to watch BBC America's Hex yet. After seeing the two-hour premiere, I must say that I was very impressed, especially with the lead actress (Christina Cole). The show manages to successfully combine the witchcraft angle of Charmed with the sly humor (at least with one character) of Buffy, and sports that Gothic British style that makes everything seem so much more important. How many episodes of this show have actually been produced (I know it premiered in Britain in 2004), and are there still new ones on the horizon? Also, are you going to be reviewing the show in the magazine anytime soon?
Answer: Why am I not surprised to be getting questions about this one already? (Including a few expressing outrage over a spoiler commercial that BBC America aired during the premiere. I didn't see that, having watched the pilot on a screener DVD.) I was kind of intrigued by the premiere episode — thought it was well executed, well acted,

Question: Any news on the Charmed finale?
Answer: Yes! Brad Kern has put the finishing touches on the script and my spies tell me it covers 80 years in the girls' lives, from the 1970s to around 2050 with numerous stops in between. Most of it is told from the POV of Piper and Leo, but Phoebe and Paige are hardly marginalized. In fact, one of them gets married.
