The DuMont show in which Jackie Gleason first introduced `The Honeymooners,' four years before the `classic 39' aired on CBS. Gleason took over as host in 1950 and soon began developing characters for the show's sketches. The Kramdens and Nortons were among them (along with Joe the Bartender and Reginald Van Gleason III). Art Carney played Norton and Pert Kelton (not Audrey Meadows) was Alice. Other regulars with later Gleason ties included choreographer June Taylor and bandleader Sammy Spear.
