A warmhearted drama focusing on tenement life and set amid the racial turbulence of the '60s. Based on the 1989 TV-movie `The Women of Brewster Place' (which in turn was adapted from Gloria Naylor's novel), the series was filmed in Chicago. Only 11 half-hour episodes were made.
