Weeds? Damages? Greek? Side ...

Question: Weeds? Damages? Greek? Side of Life? Army Wives? Dr. Who? Battlestar Galactica? Psych? Monk? Burn Notice? Mad Men? Entourage? Closer? My Boys? Got anything on any of these? You would be my savior!

Answer: Wow, lots to choose from there. Let's go with BSG. As Syfyportal.com already reported, three humanoid Cylon models will be completely wiped out next season. Well, I just found out (Spoiler alert) which ones are getting retired, and I can tell you they all have one thing in common: their gender. And here's another tasty morsel: the name of the 13th Colony in the Colonial Scriptures? "Cylon."

New Episodes - 2 for 1

Hope everybody liked Monday's episodes! The thing that's been so great about this last round of nine episodes has hands down been the writing. So many people have mentioned that they thought the writing in the last two episodes was great. I absolutely agree. The writers this year found a whole new gear and really started to open up the characters. The dialog has gotten crisper, the jokes are funnier and at times more subtle (which I really dig), and the relationships between the characters keeps getting clearer and clearer. The second of the two episodes that aired Monday was called "Off Day", i.e. P.J.'s bombing on the Turk Vardell Show. Funny side note: it was written by Brendan Smith who is a close friend of the show's creator (Betsy Thomas) and who also happens to be the guy my character is based on. There's something for the trivia section. It's been a running gag on the set that whenever the real Brendan and I are hanging out just talking or something, someone always walks by an... read more

"The Promise of a New Season"

Finally. It's been a long seven months, but the Boys are back and we're picking things up with a double-header, starting with that kiss. I was already expecting something negative to come out of this, considering this could be a My Boys version of Friends' Ross and Rachel, and it would be too soon for them to really get together. But I didn't expect to have such a physical reaction to PJ answering her cell phone right after their smooch. (Picture me throwing my hands in the air and yelling, "No! Don't answer the phone! You're totally ruining it!") But then I calmed down because this season is all about new beginnings, despite any awkwardness, and I'm so glad the show is back that I'll set the Brando-PJ thing aside just for the sake of new possibilities and new faces. (For more on upcoming guest stars and storylines, check out my interview with Jordana Spiro.)Moving on… Since when does Mike take yoga? I can't picture that, but I guess I should keep an open mind — after all,... read more

Jordana Spiro and Her Boys Jump Back in the Game

Jordana Spiro, My Boys

It's been a very long hiatus for My Boys fans since the TBS comedy's December 2006 Season 1 finale. But with new episodes beginning tonight at 10 pm/ET, there are plenty of loose ends to tie up and new situations to deal with. TVGuide.com caught up with the show's leading lady, Jordana Spiro, to get the goods on upcoming romances, big guest stars and surprising changes around the poker table. TVGuide.com: I'm so excited for the show to return. It's been too long of a wait.Jordana Spiro: Thank you! Likewise! TVGuide.com: What have you been up to since filming ended last year?Spiro: I did a movie with Jimmy Fallon, Lucy Liu and Tony Hale called Rockett. We shot that in Jacksonville, Florida, and it was really fun. Then I traveled a little bit. So yeah... tough life. TVGuide.com: read more

A Promise of a New Season

So, everyone who watched the season finale of My Boys last year has been asking me, "What's gonna happen with PJ and Brendan?" Good question. In this season's premiere episode, that and many other questions will be answered. Is that enough of a tease?Seriously though, I think everyone that saw "the kiss" is really going to dig this new episode. We get into it right away, see where Brando and Peej take things, and in true My Boys fashion... have some laughs. You're not gonna want to miss this.Check it out Monday, July 30, at 10 pm on TBS. And be sure to stop back in here at TVGuide.com afterwards to join in the blog.See ya Monday! read more

I am counting down the days ...

Question: I am counting down the days till I get My Boys back. Got any scoopage to get me through the next few weeks?

Answer: The first three episodes are chock-full of fun cameos. In the July 30 season premiere, Kenneth the Page (aka 30 Rock's Jack McBrayer) stops by. The following week, Felicity's Ian Gomez guests. And on Aug. 6, Scrubs' Travis Schuldt plays a new Cubs pitcher with eyes for P.J. And remember that girlfriend of Kenny's I mentioned a few weeks back? Well, she's played by the fraktabulous Nicole Sullivan.

I need the scoop on My Boys.

Question: I need the scoop on My Boys.

Answer: While I can't tell you what (if anything) will happen with P.J. and Brendo in the wake of their cliff-hanging kiss, I can tell you a little something about the rest of the gang. First off, when the show returns in late July, Kenny will get a girlfriend — but, alas, it will only be temporary. Also, Mike will make a career move after a stressful stint with yoga. And a secret about Bobby will be revealed when the guys finally see the inside of his apartment.

Endings, Beginnings and Favorites

It's that time of year... casts are crossing their fingers to see if they're needed for another season, finales are looming with some questions answered and others trailing off into frustrating cliff-hangers, and a whole new cycle of shows promises to debut, return and get audiences to let go of present story lines and latch onto new ones. Here are the shows on my list:Finales I can't wait to see include Heroes (will New York actually explode?), Jericho (will Hawkins come clean?), Lost (does Locke return from his disappearance with the Others?), Gilmore Girls (even though I did not like the spoiler report from Ausiello), Brothers & Sisters (arguably the best new family drama out there) and Grey's Anatomy (who becomes chief? Who sleeps with George next?).Shows I'm anxious to dive into once again: Run's House (one of the few, if only, MTV shows I think portrays actual Hollywood reality), Entourage (poor Ari), My Boys (why do we have to wait until July?!) and Project Runway (Tim Gu... read more
