Wild Hogs, which grossed $168.2 million at the box office, continues to run wild, topping last week's DVD sales and rental charts. The Disney blockbuster unseated incumbent 300 in both instances. Meanwhile, DVD releases have been set for Desperate Housewives: The Complete Third Season Dirty Laundry Edition (Sept. 4), Bosom Buddies: The Second Season (Sept. 4), Charmed: The Final Season (Sept. 11) and Evan Almighty (Oct. 9).

If you were ever a fan of Bosom Buddies, and you now watch CBS' Two and a Half Men (Mondays at 9 pm/ET), not many a week goes by where a line delivery or physical flourish from Holland Taylor doesn’t harken back to the days of Kip, Henry, and the Livingston, Gentry and Mishkin ad agency. Question: How about some nice words about the late Wendie Jo Sperber, who recently lost her battle to cancer? I remember first seeing her in an Afterschool Special and, of course, came to love her on Bosom Buddies. Wendi Jo was talented, funny and helped broaden the standard definition of "sexy" or "attractive" for a whole generation. Like Dana Hill, she was a great talent who still had a lot more to give as a person and a performer when we lost her.

She was one of those great go-to gals (Kathy Najimy is another) who was not just a terrific comedic character actress, but a character as well who often made a show seem funnier than it really was. Just thinking of that acerbic, wry voice makes me smile. Wendie Jo Sperber, best known for playing cross-dressing Tom Hanks' confidante on the early-'80s sitcom Bosom Buddies, lost an eight-year battle with breast cancer on Tuesday. "The memory of Wendie Jo is that of a walking inspiration," says Hanks in a statement. "She met the challenges of her illness with love, cheer, joy and altruism. We are going to miss her as surely as we are all better for knowing her." Sperber's credits also included Michael J. Fox's big sister in all three Back to the Future movies.
