Season 5, Episode 3
Jack Taylor--charismatic leader of an up-and-coming rock back--dies in his apartment after a sold-out concert. The investigation takes Janine and Richard deep into Manchester's music scene, where personal and professional jealousies run riot.
Season 4, Episode 3
Only a week before the regiment's deployment to the Persian Gulf, a sergeant major dies on the supposedly friendly confines of his base, the victim of a vicious attack. Called to the scene, Janine seems quite taken by her handsome military counterpart in the investigation. But Richard believes that the military has its own agenda, and his suspicions involve more than mere jealousy.
At the bottom of Blackshore Lake, divers find the remains of a man eventually identified as Mickey Day, a small-time crook and drug dealer. What connection-- if any-- did he have with a group of four college mates who used to fish together at the lake but now are dying under suspicious circumstances, one by one?
With three kids at home and one on the way, Janine earns a promotion and her first big case- the murder of Matthre Tulley, a 42-year old teacher found nearly eviscerated in his garden plot. Ferdie Gibson, Tulley's former student with a longtime grudge, seems the likeliest suspect. But Lesley, the victim's wife arouses Janine's suspicions.
