Premise: Biting satire of British history focuses on a weaselly liar named Edmund and his thick sidekick, Baldrick, as they stumble into one jam after another. The series combines sharp verbal barbs, farcical situations and brilliant send-ups of historical figures. Star Rowan Atkinson (`Mr. Bean') co-created the series with Richard Curtis, who later penned `Four Weddings and a Funeral,' `Notting Hill' and `Love Actually.'
