Soledad O'Brien Joins HBO's Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel

Soledad O'Brien is joining HBO's Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel, the network announced on Wednesday. 

"Soledad is a perfect fit for Real Sports," Ken Hershman, president of HBO Sports, said in a statement. "She's an extraordinary interviewer and storyteller, and we're thrilled to be able to add her to a franchise where the emphasis is on finding and presenting thought-provoking stories in the diverse and ever-fascinating world of sports."

"Almighty Debt: A CNN Black in America Special" is told through experiences of members of the First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens, New Jersey, and explores how an institution central to African-American communities for generations is helping its 7,000 parishioners survive the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. "Almighty Debt" introduces viewers to the Rev. Dr. DeForest "Buster" Soaries, who believes "debt is the new slavery" and follows him as he attempts to invoke faith to fight debt from his pulpit. The church's community development corporation struggles to help desperate homeowners save their homes from foreclosure and the unemployed find work. The youth ministry assists students with financial aid applications. But can this church help ensure better futures in a time of new financial challenges?
