Big Brother Recap: Power of Veto Competition/Ceremony 8 Season 13, Episode 24

The twist of Pandora's box has just been revealed (the duo rule is back in play), and Rachel immediately shifts into cheerleader mode, giving Jordan the peppiest pep talk ever. "We have a new chance! Do you understand, like, how amazing this twist is?!" Jordan seems completely uninterested, as if she's experiencing the side effects of mixing a benzo with one too many glasses of cabernet. Are you there, Jordan? Jordan? Can you hear me?

We cut to Porsche admitting to the other houseguests that she received $5,000 as a reward for opening the box, and Kalia finds it utterly shocking that Porsche would do such a thing! She's absolutely livid and she's even using hand motions to emphasize her point — until she finds out that she, too, will get $5,000! And then she's not mad anymore.

"God," says the weathered, been-smoking-cigarettes-in-the-sun-too-long Shelly, "Porsche's got more stuffing in her chest than her head." Ha! The most insightful point Shelly's made in the game to date.

The requisite nomination ceremony occurs, which almost seems futile since we know Jorchel is going up. Not at all surprisingly, Shelly and Adam are safe, and two remaining vets are on the chopping block. Jordan and Rachel go to the HOH room and throw a Hail Mary to cut a last-minute deal with Kalia and Porsche.

We then spend five painful minutes watching Shelly try to convince herself that she was justified in sending Jeff home, because her only teammates in the game are her husband and daughter. Adam nods like a bobblehead, and yeses her until she smokes another cigarette and stops talking.

The houseguests enter the backyard and are greeted by dummies of their original partners. The goal of the game, "Duo Do-Over," is to hang on to the dummy's back for dear life. The last person left hanging wins the POV and thus has the power to remove a duo from the chopping block.

Adam's out in less than five minutes, because he says he's too fat. Jordan is the next to go, followed by Shelly, Porsche, and finally, Kalia and her farting issues. The winner is Rachel — and she did it for Buh-ren-dan!!!

Jordan, Rachel, and Rachel's boobs go into the pantry to jump and dance around and celebrate the win. Later, Shelly sits down and attempts to give Jordan a genuine apology, once again bringing up the "alliance" she has with her husband and kid. They call a truce, while Jordan smiles and secretly imagines the euphoric feeling she'll have when Shelly gets evicted and walks out the door.

Shelly then makes her pitch to Jordan and Rachel, who is wearing large sunglasses indoors. We excuse this odd behavior, based on the assumption that it happens in Vegas during Poker After Dark tournaments all the time and she thinks it is normal.

At Power of Veto ceremony, Rachel takes herself and Jordan off the block, and the two remaining houseguests — Shelly and Adam — are swapped as replacements. Now, they fight to the death! Who do you think will stay? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
