Big Brother Episode Recap: Eviction 2 Season 14, Episode 7

After an intense week in the Big Brother house, the time has come to send another player packing. Will the house send home Danielle, and thereby also eliminate Dan from competing for the coaches' prize? Or will the house punish Jojo for her loyalty to hothead Willie and give her the boot? Plus: We have a new Head of Household and America has been saddled with a choice that could greatly impact the game. Let's break it down:

Seeing how upset Danielle is about being nominated, Dan quickly tells her that his earlier speech (about her being on her own) was just a coaching tactic to inspire her to play hard. He apologizes for upsetting her and says it's time to go to work getting votes. Perhaps Danielle's best strategy is to work on Shane, with whom she's been flirting all season.

Just one problem: He's also flirting with his teammate and Danielle's fellow nominee Jojo. The two randomly joke in the darkness of the have not room about sleeping naked, making out and climbing on top of one another. (Or as Ian puts it, "Shane wants to board the Staten Island Ferry.) This all makes Ian a little uncomfortable (which legitimately shocks me), and when he accidentally lets it slip to Danielle, she begins to worry who Shane will actually vote for come eviction time.

Danielle shares her broken heart with Janelle and Ashley, the latter of whom tells Danielle that she should forget about Shane because he's too skinny. In fact, Ashley says she would crush him in bed because he's "emancipated." Say what? You know, "so skinny that he becomes introverted." Of course, Ashley meant emaciated, but who cares? She's a special character. Danielle isn't really head over heels for Shane -- she's mostly upset that he would choose "Staten Island" over her. More to the point, Danielle thinks that by chatting with Janelle, she can turn more of the house against Jojo and therefore escape eviction.

Afraid of losing another player this week, Coach Britney tries to tell Jojo that Danielle is becoming chummy with others in the house. Britney tells Jojo that she should try to stifle her tough-tawkin' ways for a bit and that there should be "nothing but pink roses and rainbows" coming out of her mouth. To which Jojo gives her one and only response to everything: "No, yeah, I know." Britney is more than a little annoyed and scared.

Britney has a bit of a powwow with Boogie, who seems to want to keep Danielle around so as to keep Dan in the game? Why? Boogie now believes the coaches may enter the game at some point, and he feels all the newbies will gang up on the coaches. He likes having Dan as a fourth member of the alliance. But Britney pledges the allegiance of Shane and Jojo to Boogie's team if Jojo stays. His three votes then become five, which gives him enough people swing any vote his way. Boogie likes those odds.

Hey, look: It's Dr. Will! The best Big Brother contestant to ever play the game takes some time away from his busy tattoo-removal practice to share his expert opinions about how the coaches are doing. Of course, he thinks his former partner Boogie is steam-rolling the house, although he hopes Boogie's ego doesn't get the best of him, as it did in the last coaches' competition. He mocks Dan (aka the baby of Kermit and Ryan Seacrest) for choosing hot girls instead of stronger competitors and claims everything he says is like a coach's pep talk. (Kind of true.) He's not impressed with Britney, especially the way she lost control of Willie. And though Will gives props to Janelle's skills, he said if she doesn't win this time, she's just a three-time loser.

Julie Chen interviews outgoing HOH Frank, but the conversation is noteworthy for one reason:  Chenbot said the phrase: "Am I your home skillet?" See Frank's T-shirt for your answer.

It's time to vote. Based on the last-ditch speeches, it seems clear that Jojo knows she's about to be evicted. So she gives a long-winded speech about loyalty and playing the game without fear. Danielle almost falls down when she gives her speech. No matter, when the votes are tallied, Jojo is evicted by a 5-1 vote, with only her teammate Shane voting to keep her. (Guess Danielle really did lose to "Staten Island.")

The Head of Household competition seems to be themed with the Olympics coming up, but, oddly the game is hockey, a winter sport. In any case, each houseguest must shoot their ball from one end of the "ice" to the other, where there are containers worth varying amounts of points. The player who scores the highest wins.  Ashley kicks things off by scoring a 4, which is enough to beat Joe, who, after taking so long that Julie had to reprimand him, only scored a 3. Jenn misses the goal altogether, and is also eliminated. Ian scores a 9 to take the lead. Wil fails to beat Ian's score, but Shane scores a 20, the highest score. Danielle makes an admirable effort, but only scores as 12, which means Shane is this week's Head of Household.

For the second week in a row, a player who was once on the chopping block comes out on top in the HOH competition. But it may not matter: Just before the episode ends, Julie tells us that America can now vote for  the judges to be brought into the game as players or to continue coaching. We won't find out until next Thursday what the votes decide, and while I would like to see the coaches start playing on some levels, I think they would steal the show. Then we'd end up with a situation like last season, with a former player likely winning it all. However, if the coaches only keep coaching, there has to be a new layer to the twist because there are far fewer players in the house than normal at this point.

Do you want the coaches to play? Who should Shane nominate? And who do you think will win the game? Vote in our poll and share your comments below!
