Julie Chen opens the show singing the praises of Dan, who after Wednesday's power play, The New York Post is calling the greatest Big Brother player ever. But did his plan hold together long enough to get Britney out of the house? And who could be the next head of household? Let's find out.
The episode picks up right after the veto ceremony, and everyone is kind of reeling. Even though she's in on the con, Danielle is a bit freaked out because if anyone suspects she's still working with Dan, they could turn the tables and vote her out instead of Britney. Britney is mostly upset with Dan, who won't talk to her after nominations. He says he hasn't even talked to Frank (an obvious lie) and that all he knows is that Jenn saved him. Britney scolds Dan for "being so cold" and reminds him that to get her vote in the jury "it's important to me how you treat people."
Ian and Frank then have a war of words. Ian is furious that Frank nominated Britney, even though Ian didn't use his power of veto as promised. Frank counters that he's acting out of vengeance for Boogie's eviction and the fact that Ian nominated Frank during the double eviction. Ian says he only had three seconds to decide what to do, whereas Frank had all week to craft a plan. Frank again counters that Ian's goodbye speech to Boogie showed forethought. Finally, Ian says anyone who takes Frank to the finals is a fool. Meanwhile, Dan laughs as he watches the firestorm he's created.
Britney continues her "Hate on Dan" parade, mocking his "funeral" and saying that every word Dan speaks, he does so while slitting other players' throats in the game. Meanwhile, Joe and Shane have a confab about who they should evict. Shane is torn between evicting his former coach and his current "best friend" (aka showmance) Danielle. Depending on how much Shane trusts Joe or Ian, he should know that whichever way he tells Joe to vote, that basically controls who stays.
Oh look, a package about the Brigade! They relive how they betrayed Britney and they weigh in on this season, particulalrly picking apart the far inferior (to their mind) Quack Pack alliance. Naturally, Enzo hogs most of the camera time, and it's kind of fun to see the guys again. But nothing too exciting.
Julie grills Frank in the HOH room about why he went for Dan's plan. He doesn't give much of an answer, but Frank does suggest that, if Dan proves himself trustworthy in the coming days/weeks, Frank will be more sincere about their final two deal.
So, it's voting time! Will Joe and Shane decide to keep Britney around and totally upset Frank and Dan's plan? Nope! They join Dan and Jenn in voting out Britney, who is evicted in a 4-1 vote. (I find it hard to believe that Shane thinks Danielle is a better player than Britney. I also don't see why he wouldn't understand that Danielle could be lured back to Dan, despite the ruse at the funeral. Basically, I don't think Shane is thinking at all, because he could have kept Britney in the house and (perhaps unknowingly) crippled Dan and Frank's new alliance before it even really started. Oh, well!)
The head of household competition is an endurance competition, so the show ends before a new HOH is crowned. However, Joe and Jenn drop off pretty quickly. Is anyone surprised?
