Big Brother 12 Episode Recap: Eviction 2 Season 12, Episode 7

Another Thursday night, another eviction, and despite the evening's predictable outcome, there were some serious fireworks. The entire house was informed of one player's duplicity, and a "secret showmance" was busted. So, who got evicted? And who will be the next head of household? Let's find out.

The first few minutes of the episode played just like Wednesday night's hour. After Rachel put Matt on the block as a pawn to get Monet out, Britney and Monet spent some quality time crying...and being catty.  Monet said everyone in the house is stupid and that she wants to flush Rachel's hair extensions down the toilet. Britney answers by making fun of the fact that Rachel didn't wear much of a shirt during the veto ceremony. And then Monet again threatens to put a "fist upside [Rachel's] head." Classy pair.

Matt, being super cocky, decides to commiserate with Monet, feigning anger that he was put up on the block. (Let's not forget, he volunteered for the job.) He tells Britney and Monet that Brendon and Rachel are definitely his target if he stays.  Meanwhile, in the diary room, he's all smiles, bragging about how The Brigade is running the game as a powerhouse alliance. He feels confident that the entire house is behind him, and he's just sitting pretty until Monet is evicted.

Hey, look, it's Kristen! This year's quietest player gets some attention because she and Hayden are stupid enough to make out and whisper sweet nothings to one another while Andrew is "asleep." Their secret relationship is working perfectly! Kristen gets a few extra moments when Rachel decides to stir the pot. To get an idea where Kristen stands, Rachel lies and says Britney believes Kristen will vote to keep Monet.  Kristen confronts Britney, Britney has no idea what anyone is talking about, Rachel plays moderator, Monet threatens to punch Rachel again. Fun!

Confident that her plan to get rid of Monet is in place, Rachel tries to make peace with Britney. Rachel tells Britney that the reason she didn't put up Andrew (and thereby take Monet and Britney's deal) was because Matt offered himself up. Britney, of course, was there when Matt was pretending to be so surprised by his nomination, and so she tells Rachel that he's playing both sides. And Rachel cries, because she told Brendon that Matt wasn't the right choice, but he talked her out of putting up Andrew.

House meeting! Rachel gathers everyone in the living room and calls Matt out on his deception. He plays dumb at first, but then says that he offered to go up on the block because Brendon and Rachel were strong-arming him into voting out Monet either way. He also covered up his comments about coming after Rachel and Brendon by saying that anyone who claims not to be gunning for them are idiots, since they are an overt alliance. There's a lot of yelling, and Brendon ends it by simply telling Matt, "You got busted." Yeah, ok, but what planet are these people on that they don't think everyone is playing both sides? I don't like Matt's choices of late, but he's playing the game. Get in line, people.

Although Monet may have hoped that drama would keep her in the house, alas, she is evicted by a 7-2 vote (Britney and Kathy voted to keep her). She's very emotional, which she says the Big Brother house brought out in her. Her goodbye messages from the houseguests were an excellent summary of her time in the house. Rachel called her clique-y and catty, and said she was dumb for trying to break up Rachel and her man. And Britney cried as she lamented being unable to any longer make fun of Kristen's high-waisted pants or Rachel's extensions. Classy to the end!

The head of household competition tests the player's endurance, as they have to stand on a moving surfboard while being soaked with water. The last person standing wins, but the first five people to fall off also get to eat and sleep normally as this week's "Haves." The show ends before the winner is revealed, so I will take this opportunity to make fun of the short shorts Andrew wore in the competition. (Hey, it's fun to be mean!)

So, what do you think of the eviction? Do you think Matt will have trouble earning trust after his scheming was revealed? Who do you hope wins HOH and who do you want them to nominate? Plus: Who do you think will win? Vote in our poll and share all your comments below.
