The theme for the 11th edition of the summer reality series is high school. No, the 12 houseguests aren't teens, but the dozen participants are divided into one of four cliques (popular, athletes, brainiacs, off-beats) that anyone familiar with high school will instantly recognize. The four groups will compete against one another for food, prizes and safety from eviction. In addition, a 13th mystery player will soon join the fun. Let the games begin!

CBS has announced (most) of the 13 houseguests who will be competing for the $500,000 grand prize on Big Brother 11 this summer.

Host Julie Chen made the reveal on CBS' Early Show, but only introduced 12 players. The remaining mystery guest — which the blogosphere suggests will be a player from a past season — will be announced July 7, two days before the show's premiere.

Good news, Big Brother fans (and for those of you who scoff at the show but watch anyway)!

Big Brother 11 will premiere Thursday, July 9 at 8 pm/ET on CBS, the network announced. Beginning July 12, the show will air three nights a week — Sundays at 8 pm, Tuesdays at 9 pm and Thursdays at 8 pm.

Julie Chen — baby bump and all — will return as the host of the weekly eviction shows.

Big Brother host Julie Chen will no longer just babysit reality TV stars.

Chen announced on The Early Show that she and husband Leslie Moonves are expecting their first child. The baby is due October 4.

Never fear, Big Brother fans: Chen said the pregnancy will not keep her from her weekly hosting duties for the 11th cycle of the show, airing this summer.

Always dreamed of embarrassing yourself and your loved ones on national TV? Now's your chance.

Guilty-pleasure reality show Big Brother is hitting the road for a number of open casting calls for the series' upcoming 11th season. Over two weeks, the producers will be travelling to New York, Boston, Atlanta, Las Vegas and even a few places off the beaten path, such as High Point, N.C., and Flowood, Miss.

The chosen contestants will enter a camera-rigged house this summer and have their lives taped 24 hours a day as they compete in a number of challenges to win $500,000. Sex, snoring and plenty of loud fights are guaranteed.
