The Beulah Show on ABC

Dated sitcom about a black maid employed by a seemingly helpless white family. The supporting cast included Butterfly McQueen of `Gone with the Wind' fame and, later, Dooley Wilson, who portrayed the piano-playing Sam in `Casablanca.' Ethel Waters originated the TV role, and was replaced in 1952 by Louise Beavers. Oscar winner Hattie McDaniel, who played the part on radio, filled in for Beavers for a number of episodes.
