Premise: Actor-comedian Katt Williams hosts the inaugural awards gala, which salutes the best in hip-hop and rap in 14 categories, including Video of the Year and Rookie of the Year. Slated performers include Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, T.I., Young Dro, Young Jeezy, the Game, Lil Wayne and Baby. Also: Grandmaster Flash is honored. Taped in 2006 at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta.
