A winner is crowned in the Season 1 finale after the three finalists endure a long day of challenges. First, they cook up tailgate snacks for season-ticket holders at Yankee Stadium. Then they must prepare a healthful barbecue meal for the cast of the Broadway musical "Mamma Mia!" And finally, they deliver late-night munchies to a crowd of Brooklyn bar-hoppers. At stake is $50,000 and the title of "Best in Smoke."
Four pitmasters remain and they're tasked with selling their cuisine from food carts in New York's Battery Park. The team that sells the most advances to the finale, while the others must square off in a sudden-death cook-off.
Six barbecue chefs from across the country begin competing for a $50,000 grand prize and the title of "Best in Smoke" in the series premiere. In the first challenge, they're asked to create their single best bite of barbecue. Then, they cater a cocktail party held at a Manhattan art gallery.
