Beauty and the Beast Gets a Full-Season Pickup

Freshman drama Beauty and the Beast has been given a full-season pickup, The CW announced Friday.

This week, the show, which stars Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan, jumped 9 percent in total viewers. For the season, it's averaging an audience of 2.4 million and a 0.9 rating among adults 18 to 34, according to the network.

ABC topped Thursday with the 46th Annual Country Music Awards, though the ceremony dropped sharply from last year.

Lots of people are still interested in CBS' Person of Interest.

Despite competing against the World Series and the usual Thursday-night fare, the CBS drama drew 14 million viewers and rose 7 percent in the adults-18-to-49 demographic to score a 3.0, according to early Nielsen numbers. That was good enough to beat out ABC's Grey's Anatomy, which was down 12 and 15 percent, respectively, to 8.5 million viewers and a 2.9 in the demo.

Ratings: Big Bang, Two and a Half Men Rise

CBS topped Thursday with The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men both posting gains.

Big Bang was the top show of the night with 15.4 million viewers and a 4.7 in the adults 18-to-49 demographic, rising 4 percent. Men, which featured Miley Cyrus, drew 13.6 million viewers and a 4.0, up 14 percent from last week. Person of Interest (13.8 million, 2.8) and Elementary (10.8 million, 2.3) both slipped two-tenths.
